Idea Cellular, India’s 4th largest mobile telecom operator and top 3G provider has won the prestigious ‘Best Brand Campaign’ award second year in a row at the World Communication Awards 2012, held in London. Idea becomes the only Indian company to win at the Annual World Communication Awards ceremony which witnessed participation from the world’s biggest communications providers.

The award comes as a recognition for its popular ‘3G Population Campaign’ this year. The campaign highlighted the effective usage of 3G mobile telephony services to overcome country’s predicament of overpopulation. The campaign duly reiterated Idea’s core philosophy of ‘championing’ ideas that have the potential to change lives, through the power of mobile telephony. “3G was a new category in the Indian telephony space. Idea’s 3G Population Campaign was highly effective in establishing Idea’s wide range of mobile broadband services, while also growing the category for mass adoption of 3G services in India” Sashi Shankar commented on the winning campaign.
