Micromax-backed YU is back with another android smartphone launch this year. After the launch of Yureka Black, the Indian mobile vendor has added another member to its Yureka series – Yu Yureka 2. The mobile packs all the usual bells and whistle you would find in the mid-range smartphone.
With a price tag of Rs 11,999, the Yu Yureka 2 will compete against the likes of Xiaomi and Motorola smartphones. The mobile will be a Flipkart exclusive and the first sale will happen on 20th September 2017.
Design-wise the Yu Yureka 2 has a metal body with curved edges. The mobile flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with a 2.5D glass covering it. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. To storage your media content, the device carries 64GB of internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 128GB using microSD card. The biggest letdown, is in the software part, as the mobile runs on the age old Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. There is no news about any future upgrade to Android Nougat or Android Oreo.
Coming to photography, the Yu Yureka 2 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash support. For selfie addicts, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The company has chosen to use hybrid SIM slot for the mobile. These allow you to have either dual SIM support or one SIM with microSD card support. The mobile support 4G LTE that works with every Indian telco’s 4G band. In addition, you also get VoLTE support for making HD voice and video calls. Other connectivity options include support for 3G and 2G networks, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth.
For extra security, the mobile comes with a fingerprint scanner placed at the back of the device. Finally, the mobile get’s its fuel from a 3,930mAh battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.
