Over the years, you’ve continued to surprise and delight us. And the past year was no exception. Who would have guessed that a tux-rocking K-pop star would shatter records left and right or that Sesame Street would go global with 1 billion views? That’s one of our favorite things about our global audience: you’re as unpredictable as you are creative and irreverent. ” commented The YouTube Team in its official blog.

Recently only YouTube started offering paid channels as a pilot program for a small group of partners with a subscription fees starting at $0.99 per month. YouTube paid subscription based service empowers creators to take their channels to the next level, opening up a bigger revenue stream other than usual video ads.

Earlier YouTube also launched Movie rental and Purchase service in India, providing users a range of movie rental or buying choice between English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Malayalam and World cinemas.
