Xiaomi India introduced a new range of power bank called Mi Power Bank 2i. This special edition is made in India for India as a part of the Make In India movement. They come directly from Xiaomi’s first exclusive accessory factory situated in Noida in partnership with Hipad. Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain also teased about this upcoming mystery product a few days back in his tweet.
Features Of Mi Power Bank 2i
The Mi Power Bank 2i is equipped with the same features as that of Mi Power Bank 2. However, the size and weight have been altered to make it more comfy. The 2i range also comes in two capacities viz 10,000 mAh (Black) and 20000mAh (White). Let’s see the product features in detail.
Mi Power Bank 2i 20000mAh (White)
This is a high-capacity variant which supports dual USB output, two-way fast charging and single-port Quick Charge 3.0 feature. Inside it, you will find high-density lithium polymer batteries from ATL and Lishen. You can charge up to 2 devices simultaneously or share the power with others in need. Xiaomi claims that this variant can full charge Mi A1 up to 4.3 times, iPhone 7 up to 7.1 times and iPad mini 4 up to 2.5 times. You can also safely charge low power devices like Bluetooth headsets and fitness bands by double pressing the power button for 2-hour low charging mode.
It is also compatible with a wide range of devices since it intelligently adjusts power output to match the device requirements. With two devices connected, you will get 5.1V/3.6A dual output. The design is also elegant and uses high quality, environment-friendly PC+ABS material. Its perforated exterior design is scratch resistant and provides a comfortable and slip-resistant hold. Therefore, this new gen power bank is both light(258g) in weight and high on performance.
Other specifications include 93 percent conversion rate, 13000mAh actual output capacity, 9-layer circuit protection and temperature resistance. It also has short circuit reset mechanism, input overvoltage, protection from incorrect insertion, protection from output overcurrent, output overvoltage protection , protection from overcharge and overdischarge, and PTC protective circuits for the cell.
Mi Power Bank 2i 10000mAh (Black)
The 10000mAh variant is lighter and elegant in design with anodized aluminium alloy case. It has a 180 degree ergonomic arc design and the aluminium case can withstand most collisions and impacts. Its actual output capacity is 6500mAh and offers 90% conversion rate.
You can charge most laptops and smartphones available in market with its wide compatibility of 5V/2A , 9V/2A, and 12V/1.5A. Xiaomi claims that it can charge Mi A1 up to 2.2x , iPhone 7 up to 3.5x and iPad mini up to 4 1.3x. It is just 14.2mm thick and weighs only 240g . This variant also has the low power charging mode and other safety mechanisms but lacks Quick Charge 3.0.
Pricing & Availability
Xiaomi is manufacturing these new gen power banks in Noida accessory factory at the rate of 7 units per minute. Hence, they are offering them at a competitive price as low as Rs 799 for 10000mAh and Rs 1,499 for 20000mAh. The devices will be available for purchase starting November 23 on Mi.com and Mi Home.
