After the launch of Mi Max back in June, the Chinese mobile vendor Xiaomi has come back with the launch of a much more powerful Mi Max Prime in India. The main difference is the chipset which is now a much more capable Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor. Other features include more RAM of 4GB, bigger storage space of 128GBand 4G LTE with VoLTE support.

Coming to the price, the Mi Max Prime got a price tag of Rs 19,999. An increase of Rs 5000 if you compare it with the Mi Max. The smartphone phablet will be available exclusively via Amazon India or Mi official website with sales starting from 17th October 2016.

As for the features and specification goes, the Mi Max Prime got a metal unibody design with 2.5D curved glass offering a smooth edge on the front sides. The phablet flaunts a 6.44-inch full HD display with a pixel density of 342 ppi.

On the hardware side, the Mi Max Prime is powered by 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option. The storage can be further expanded using microSD card. For photography, the phablet comes equipped with a 16-megapixel camera on the back with two-tone flash, 5-element lens, f 2.0 aperture and PDAF support. On the front, we got a 5-megapixel camera with an 85-degree wide angle lens.

Connectivity wise the Xiaomi Mi Max Prime got dual SIM option that supports 4G LTE with VoLTE support (supports all Indian 4G LTE bands). Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G networks along with WIFi and Bluetooth options. To power the hardware, the phablet carries a big 4,850mAh battery which supports quick charging.

For added security, the Xiaomi Mi Max Prime also got a fingerprint scanner at the rear. It can do additional functionality like locking apps, hide folders, privatise notes and enable Child mode. The phablet runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 skin over the top.
