Xiaomi has given a permanent price cut on its phablet device Mi Max 2. The company has effectively given a flat Rs 1000 discount on both storage variants of Mi Max 2. The 32 GB storage variant of Mi Max 2 now priced at Rs 13,999. Whereas the 64GB storage variant will now retail at a price tag of 15,999.

Need a really big screen that’s perfect for watching movies, playing games, reading books and browsing, still small enough to squeeze in your pant’s pocket. The Chinese mobile vendor Xiaomi has unveiled with big screen android smartphone or phablet Mi Max 2 in India. On a quick glance, the mobile features a big phablet size display, Snapdragon chipset, dual SIM support and 4G LTE with VoLTE support.
In terms of pricing and availability, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is priced at Rs 16,999. The phablet will be first available exclusively through Mi.com during the Mi third anniversary sale on 20th and 21st July 2017. Later on 27th July 2017, the phablet will be made available on all major online stores including Flipkart, Amazon, TataCliQ and Paytm, and offline retail stores across India. The company has also partnered with Reliance Jio, where you can get 100GB extra 4G data benefits with the purchase of the device.
Design and Performance
Boasting the same size of older Xiaomi Mi Max, the successor Xiaomi Mi Max 2 sports a metal unibody design. The best part, the ugly antenna bands that run along the top and bottom edges now boast the same colour as of the device. The phablet has now become thinner with just 7.6mm thickness and rounded edges offer a much better hand feel. The device flaunts a 6.44-inch full HD 1920 x 1080 display covered in 2.5D curved glass. To protect the screen from scratches, it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Now going inside of Xiaomi Mi Max 2, you get a 2.0 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. You also get Adreno 506 clocked at 650MHz for better GPU performance. For all your media storage requirements the phablet carries 64GB of internal storage. You can further expand the storage using microSD card.
Photography and Connectivity
Coming to photography, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes equipped with a 12-megapixel rear autofocus camera. It features Sony IMX386 sensor which is the same sensor you could find in the flagship Mi 6. Other than that the back camera features f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, PDAF, and HDR. On the front for selfie addicts, you get a 5-megapixel camera featuring f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide-angle lens.
For connectivity, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 supports high-speed 4G LTE networks that work with every Indian telco’s 4G band. In addition, the mobile also supports VoLTE for HD voice and video calling. Other connectivity option includes 3G and 2G network support, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth and USB Type-C. The mobile runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with MIUI 8 skin over the top.
For the big phone to last for days instead of hours, it packs a massive 5,300mAh battery. The company claims the battery on a full charge can last easily for two-days of usage. It can easily run 18 hours of video or 10 days of music playback or 9 hours of gaming or up to 57 hours talk time on a single charge. Additionally, you get Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support allowing you to charge the battery up to 68 percent in one hour. You can even use the battery as a power bank and charge other devices.
Finally, for added security, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes with a fingerprint scanner placed at the back of the phablet. In addition, you also get IR Blaster using which you can control most of the large appliances. For audiophiles out there, the phablet comes with dual stereo speakers offering improved video and gaming experience.
