Packing the most powerful processor, getting to the dual camera standard, and having a premium four-sided 3D glass design. The next flagship device from Chinese mobile vendor Xiaomi is here – the Xiaomi Mi 6 android smartphone. On a quick glance, the mobile features Snapdragon 835 SoC with 6GB of RAM, new premium design, 12-megapixel dural-camera and 4G with VoLTE support.
Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in two variants, the 64GB storage variant will come with a price tag of CNY 2,499 or around Rs 24,000. Whereas the 128GB storage variant gets a price tag of CNY 2,899 or roughly Rs 27,500. There is also a special Mi 6 Ceramic variant that got 18-Karat Gold camera rings selling at CNY 2,999 or around Rs 28,500. Also, you get five colour options – Black, White, Sliver, Blue and Ceramic Black.As for availability, there is no confirmation from the company on Indian launch.
Design and Performance
This time, Xiaomi has got a new premium design for Mi 6 which way different from its other phones. On four sides of the mobile, we got the 3D glass body with stainless steel frame running on the edges. The whole glass enclosure gives the phone a super premium feel. One added feature of the design is that the mobile is splash resistant including the SIM tray on the side.
On the front, Xiaomi Mi 6 packs the fingerprint sensor under the glass that also doubles as a home button. The mobile flaunts a 5.15-inch full HD 1920×1080 display with eye care. It essentially reduces blue light emitted from the display to protect your eyes. The display also features 428 pixels per inch and comes with 1 nit ultra-dark night display.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. The combination offers one of the powerful devices in the market, even beating Samsung Galaxy S8 on AnTuTu benchmark score. To store all your media content the mobile comes in 64GB or 128GB storage variant.
Dual Camera
Keeping up with the market trends, the Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a dual-camera setup. On the back, the mobile got two 12-megapixel camera modules. One 12-megapixel is a wide angle camera module which got a focal length 27mm, f/1.8 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilisation. Whereas the second is a 12-megapixel telephoto camera module with a focal length of 52mm and f/2.6 aperture. The dual-camera setup also offers 2x optical lossless zoom along with a 10x digital zoom.
The back camera can shoot 4K videos at 30 fps and slow motion videos at 120 fps. On front for selfie lovers, the mobile carries an 8-megapixel camera with third generation 36 smart beauty mode.
Connectivity
As for connectivity, the Xiaomi Mi 6 supports high-speed 4G LTE networks that work with every Indian telco’s 4G band. In addition, the mobile also supports VoLTE for HD voice and video calling. Other connectivity option includes 3G and 2G network support, 2.2 dual Wi-Fi technology, and Bluetooth 5.0. The mobile runs on Android Nougat with MIUI skin over the top. To fuel the whole device a 3,350 mAh battery is included with Quick Charge 4.0 support.
