Do you know the highest selling phone India? Well, currently that crown goes to the Chinese mobile vendor Xiaomi’s Redmi 3S smartphone. Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi’s VP has just tweeted, that the company has hit a new milestone by selling a total of 4 million units of Redmi 3s till date.
Launched nine months back in August 2016, the Xiaomi Redmi 3s has dethroned Redmi Note 3 to become the highest online selling smartphone in India. In addition, the mobile vendor now stands as the number two smartphone brand in India. That’s with around 10.7 percent Indian mobile market share, according to IDC report. Also during the last one year period, the company has grown 4X, which resulted in a 14 percent quarter-on-quarter growth.
Redmi 3S the Budget Smartphone
Xiaomi redefined the entry-level smartphone market in India with its Redmi series. The Redmi 3S premium metal unibody design and flaunts a 5-inch HD display. The device is powered by a 1.4GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with up to 3GB of RAM. As the mobile features a hybrid SIM slot, you can either have dual SIM option or one SIM and a microSD card.
As far as mobile photography concerned, the Redmi 3s carries a 13-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. For connectivity, the mobile support 4G LTE networks in India along with VoLTe support. The mobile runs on Android Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 UI wrapped over the top.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3s comes in 16GB storage variant and 2GB of RAM priced at Rs 6,999. Whereas the Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime got a bigger 32GB storage, 3GB of RAM and fingerprint scanner is priced at Rs 8,999. Both smartphones are available exclusively on Flipkart.
