Xiaomi today added two new earphones viz Mi Earphones and Mi Earphones Basic to their audio accessories portfolio in India. Both these earphones come with mic and controls to facilitate audio calling and recording. So, let us find out what Xiaomi has packed in these low budget earphones.
Mi Earphones
The earpiece of the Mi Earphones offers high-quality sound, dynamic bass and good frequency response. For this, they have created a metallic sound chamber in a 20-step process and a driver out of aerospace grade composite metal in between two PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) layers. Moreover, the chamber has a good damping system enhancing the sound and airflow. The chamber also has diamond cut finish with up to 0.01mm, a detailed 0.14mm grained CD pattern on the back and ergonomic curves for comfort.
The mic of this earphones is accompanied with three sleek buttons to answer/end calls and control volume level. The MEMS (Microelectromechanical Systems) microphone has 58dB signal-to-noise ratio for delivering better voice quality and low noise even when located away from the mouth.
The Mi Earphones has soft comfortable, anti-slip earbuds and you’ll get three sizes (XS/S/L) in the package. The earphone cable is of Kevlar fibre that makes it strong and break resistant. The whole cable has a braided sleeving to prevent the annoying knots and tangling. In addition, a TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) sheath covers the end sections to reduce ‘stethoscope effect’ or noise interference. The 3.5mm connector has a 90 degree angled design that exposes less wire and provides more grip for easy removal.
Xiaomi has subjected the earphones to over 700 types of durability tests simulating stress, vibration and temperature variation. You have two colour options to choose from, Silver and Black. The Mi Earphones costs Rs 699 and is available for purchase from Mi.com, Mi home and other partner stores.
Mi Earphones Basic
Xiaomi claims that these earphones are specifically designed for India. It offers ultra-low bass, good sound quality and treble performance. This is possible with the help of aluminium alloy chamber having third generation balanced damping system. Moreover anodising and zircon blasting has made the chamber corrosion, scratch and slip resistant.
This earphone also has silicon earbuds and 45 degrees bent to the AUX connector. The mic part of this earphones has a simple press button for play/pause and answer/hang calls. This variant of the earphone comes in two colour choices viz – Black and Red. You can purchase the Mi Earphones Basic for Rs 399 from Mi.com, Mi home and other partner stores.
