To take on Airtel Secure Plan, India’s second largest telecom operator Vodafone India has launched Vodafone RED Shield. A complete device security solution along with insurance coverage available exclusive for Vodafone RED subscribers.
Vodafone RED Shield will protect your smartphone from theft, physical damage, liquid damage, virus etc. It also packs an complimentary insurance protection for your device. Your smartphone will get an insurance cover of up to Rs 50,000 if you have bought it less than 6 months ago.
Vodafone India has partnered with Shotformats Digital Productions Private Limited for the device security solution and service is offered by Servify. Finally, the insurance cover is being offered by New India Assurance Company Ltd.

To activate Vodafone RED Shield, you need to download the RED Shield App which is available on both Google Play and iTunes Store. Once installed the app will diagnose your device for checking the performance of screen, camera, connectivity and sensors. Once approved you will get an option to activate RED Shield subscription.
In the case of device damage, you can raise a claim through the RED Shield app. Your device will be picked up right from your home or office for service or repair. You will also get real-time status updates during service requests.
What about the price? Vodafone RED Shield comes with an annual subscription fee of Rs 720. But to avoid the burden of paying the full amount at first, Vodafone will be charging for the service every month. The charges will be added to your monthly postpaid bill, for a period of 12 months from registration. That’s, Rs 720 will be divided into Rs 60 per months for 12 months.
