If you love taking snaps of your beautiful pretty face throughout the day, then Vivo got a perfect companion for you. The Chinese mobile vendor Vivo has launched its selfie focus camera smartphone Vivo V5s in India. On a quick glance, the mobile features 20-megapixel front-facing camera, octa-core processor with 4GB RAM, hybrid slot, Hi-Fi audio chip and 4G LTE.
Going through the pricing and offers, the Vivo V5s gets a price tag of Rs 18,990. The mobile will be available exclusively through Flipkart starting 6th May 2017. You can, however, pre-book the mobile at Flipkart starting today. There are two colour variants available – Matte Black colour variant will be available starting 6th May 2017 during the initial sale. Whereas the Crown Gold colour variant will go on sale starting 20th May 2017. Other than that Vivo is packing two months of Saavn Pro subscription with the mobile purchase.
20MP Moonlight Camera
The main highlight of Vivo V5s is the 20-megapixel front-facing camera which company calls the ‘Moonlight camera’. The selfie camera features f/2.0 aperture, Moonlight flash, Facebeauty 3.0, and Group Selfie mode. There has been a major upgrade to the original Moonlight Glow, which now offers an even better solution for capturing radiant complexions in your selfies.
On the back, the Vivo V5s carries a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash support. It also comes with Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF) support. The back camera can capture multiple frames in quick succession to create a high quality and detailed 52-megapixel photo.
Design and Performance
Coming to the design part, the Vivo V5s got a sleek metal unibody design with curved edges on the sides. You now get a U-type antenna design on top and bottom giving the mobile elegant premium look. The mobile flaunts a 5.5-inch HD 1280×720 IPS display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 over the top.
Under the hood, the Vivo V5s is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. To store all your selfies and other media content the mobile carries 64GB of internal storage. It features hybrid SIM slot, that allows you to either have two SIMs or one SIM and a microSD card. If you are choosing to have the microSD card then the mobile supports up to 256GB of expandable storage.
Connectivity
For connectivity, the Vivo V5s supports 4G LTE network that works with every Indian telcos 4G band. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G network support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz and Bluetooth v4.0. The mobile runs on a bit old Android v6.0 Marshmallow OS with Funtouch OS 3.0 UI over the top. For extra security, you also get a fingerprint scanner embedded in the front home button.
For audiophiles, the Vivo V5s packs a custom-made AK4375 dedicated Hi-Fi audio chip offering an immersive audio experience that also highly energy efficient. It can also offer signal-to-noise ratio of up to 115 dB. On the software part with ‘App Clone’ feature, you can maintain two different accounts for an app on the same device.
