Indian telecom operator Telenor has hit by a major network outage in Uttar Pradesh East and Uttar Pradesh West telecom circle. During the outage, users were not able to make or receive calls, send SMS and can’t get a consistent connection to the internet.
“Due to some unfortunate incidents at UP East and UP West, network in some areas in both our circles has been impacted. Telenor India team has formed a task force along with its vendor partner to restore network at these impacted sites. We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers and assure you we are taking swift action for early restoration of our sites.” according to a statement released by Telenor India. “
Telenor India in an update to its customers on Twitter, tweeted that the company is working hard with its vendor partners to restore its networks in UP east & UP west telecom circles. While writing this article, the network has been restored in most of the parts.
The exact reason for the outage is still unknown, but its seems to be caused by the thunderstorm and heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh. Telenor has also reported that its optical fiber connection in some parts have damaged, which they stated to resolve on priority.
