With a slew innovative services and much better customer service, Tata Sky has retained its number one ranking in the Indian DTH market, in terms of sheer subscribers number.

According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Indian telecom services performance indicator report for the quarter ending October-December 2019, Tata Sky garnered a market share of 31.80 per cent. The DTH operator has improved its market share from 30.61 per cent in the previous quarter ending September 2019.

Right behind Tata Sky, we have DishTV which is now India’s second-largest DTH operator with a market share of 30.55 per cent. DishTV lost quite a few subscribers from its earlier market share of 31.23 per cent in the quarter ending September 2019.

In the third spot, we have Airtel Digital TV with a market share of 23.31 per cent. They too lost subscribers, as it had 23.39 per cent market share in the quarter ending September 2019. Finally, we have the Sun Direct DTH provider in the fourth place with a market share of 14.35 per cent in the quarter ending December 2019.

Indian has around 69.98 million active DTH subscriber base at the end of December 2019. There is a marginal increase in the DTH subscriber bases. From 69.30 million subscribers in the quarter ending September 2019 to now 69.98 million in the quarter ending December 2019.
