Now a bit faster downloads or internet speed even after you have crossed the red line of data allowance. One of India’s popular broadband service provider Tata Sky Broadband has upgraded the post fair usage policy (FUP) data speed to 3 Mbps from the earlier speed limit of 2Mbps.
Post exhaustion of the data allowance in your Tata Sky Broadband plans, you would now continue to get unlimited internet at a FUP speed of 3 Mbps. The ISP seems to be first to provide FUP speed upgrade to minimum 3 Mbps. Comparing the same with other, BSNL on most of its broadband plans offer to post FUP 2 Mbps data speed. Whereas, Airtel Broadband and Jio Fiber limits the data speed to 1 Mbps after you hit the data quota.
Tata Sky Broadband users, subscribed to unlimited plan or fixed GB plans would get the benefit from the new post FUP speed of 3 Mbps. They could continue using the internet or downloads at a fairly good speed of 3 Mbps, even after crossing their broadband plans data allowance.
For unlimited data plan users of Tata Sky Broadband, the post FUP speed will be reduced to 3 Mbps after 3300 GB data consumption for the 300 Mbps plan (Rs 1900 unlimited plan). For rest of the unlimited plans – 20 Mbps (Rs 950), 50 Mbps (Rs 1050) and 100 Mbps (Rs 1150), the post FUP speed of 3 Mbps will come into effect once your data consumption crosses 1500 GB data.
The upgraded FUP speed limit has already gone live with all Tata Sky Broadband plans in every telecom circles/cities it operates. That’s said Tata Sky Broadband is available in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kalya-Dombivli, Karnataka, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mira Bhayandar, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune and Thane.
