Sony has unveiled its latest addition to Xperia line of Android smartphones, the Sony Xperia Z1 – previously leaked information refereed it as Honami. Featuring the best of Sony’s camera expertise with 20.7MP camera equipping Exmor RS CMOS image sensor with G Lens, 5 inch gorgeous full HD TRILUMINOS display, 2.2 GHz quad-core CPU, 4G LTE connectivity and Durably packaged (waterproof and dust-proof).
Sony Xperia Z1 main highlight is the stunning Sony’s camera technology providing true compact camera performance through award-winning “G Lens” with a 27mm wide-angle and bright F2.0 aperture, custom-made large 1/2.3-type CMOS image sensor Exmor RS for mobile with 20.7 megapixel and a BIONZ for mobile image processing engine. This help to captures beautiful, sharp and bright images even in lowlight conditions with high shutter speeds and 3x clear image zoom to get blur free images.
To accompany with the powerful camera Sony has added in Xperia Camera applications which takes conventional camera experience to a whole new level. Xperia Camera applications include Social live – that allow live broadcast from Xperia Z1 to Facebook, Info-eye – a visual search function that provides related information on landmarks and on items such as books by capturing them with the camera, Timeshift burst – that allows to take up to 61 images in 2 seconds and AR effect – that provides an overlay selection of fun, customizable animations to create pictures using Sony’s SmartARTM augmented reality technology.
Sony Xperia Z1 is way similar to previous Xperia Z line of Android smartphones including the Flagship Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z Tablet and Xperia Z Ultra. Sony Xperia Z1 spots a 5.0 inch Full HD TRILUMINOS display with X-Reality for mobile picture engine providing stunning viewing experience. Its build on Sony’s acclaimed OmniBalance design with premium materials and precision engineering in a slim waterproof and dust resistant smartphone (IP55 & IP58). To add up the premium feel it designed using a solid one-piece aluminum frame with tempered glass on the front and back.
On the hardware side it’s powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM, along with Adreno 330 GPU and dual ISP for incredible graphics. It comes with 16GB internal storage which can be expanded with microSD card up to 64 GB. It also spots a 2 megapixel front facing camera that also support HD video recording (1080p). On the connectivity front it supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC capabilities. On the software front it got Android JellyBean 4.2.2 with Sony’s Xperia UI on top.

Sony Xperia Z1 will be available in black, white and purple color variants in different countries from third quarter of 2013.
