Another year starting fresh with the most awaited flagship android smartphone. Samsung at MWC 2015 has launched not one, but two of its flagship smartphones, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. This smartphones comes with premium metal body, Samsung’s own’s Exynos chip, 16 megapixel camera and Android 5.0 Lollipop with overhauled TouchWiz UI (less bloatware).
Enough for the premium sort of plasticy phones, Samsung has ditched its old habits and the new Galaxy S6 smartphones are now made out of premium metal frames (they claim its 50% stronger than metal used in other phones). On the bottom part of the smartphone, it got the charging port, headphone port, microphone and finally speakers, making it too crowded.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge both spots a Super AMOLED display with a super high-resolution of 2560×1440 (QHD) pixel with 577ppi. But the Galaxy S6 edge got a dual edge display on both left and right sides. The whole surface now covered up with Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
Under the hood the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge is powered by Exynos 7420 octa-core (2.1GHz quad-core+1.5GHz quad-core) processor instead of the earlier rumored Qualcomm’s processor and comes with 3GB of new DDR4 standard RAM. This hardware specification can easily handle just about anything that current Android apps and games can throw at it. On the storage side Samsung has opted for 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage, but removed the expandable storage option all together.
On the camera side the flagship smartphones got a 16 megapixel camera on rear with optical image stabilization and F/1.9 lens. On the front it got a wide-angle 5 megapixel camera for all your selfie obsession. On the connectivity side the smartphone got 4G LTE network support along with 3G and 2G networks. It also include NFC, IR Blaster, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity options. In addition to all this the smartphone also got pulse oximiter or the heart rate monitor and fingerprint scanner for ultra secure lock for your smartphone.
On the software front the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge both runs on latest Android lollipop operating system and of course the Samsung TouchWiz UI with little less bloatware to start with. One of the other changes the smartphone brings in, is the non-removable battery with 2,550mAh battery for Galaxy S6 and a small bump of 2600mAh battery for Galaxy S6 edge.
