Better late than never, Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio has come up four new prepaid mobile plans called ‘Jio All-In-One’ to counter its own customer uproar against IUC or Interconnect Usage Charge. Those who have missed the action, the telco has recently started charging its customers for making outgoing voice calls to other networks. Thus backing down on its own big claim of offering ‘unlimited free voice calls‘ for a lifetime.
Jio All-in-One plans are priced in such a way that it includes a surplus of benefits. Like, 2GB of daily high-speed data, free calls on Jio’s network and to all landlines, unlimited SMS and complimentary subscription to Jio Apps. Most importantly this new prepaid mobile plans from Jio offers 1,000 minutes of off-net voice calls or Jio to Non-Jio voice calls.
As we said earlier, there are four new All-in-One plans – Rs 222, Rs 333, Rs 444 and Rs 555. Each of these plans come with 2GB daily data, unlimited calls to Jio and landline, unlimited SMS (100 SMS per day) and complimentary subscription to Jio Apps. What differs in each of these plans are validity and off-net voice minutes. Rs 222 all-in-one plan comes with 28 days of validity and 1000 off-net minutes or Jio to Non-Jio FUP minutes.
For Rs 333 and Rs 444 all-in-one plans, you get almost the same benefits of Rs 222 all-in-one plan but with 56 days and 84 days validity. However, if you need more off-net minutes then you have the Rs 555 all-in-one plan which packs 3,000 off-net voice minutes and comes with 84 days of validity.
Jio All-in-One Plans
All-in-One Plan (Rs) | IUC Minutes (non-Jio mobiles) | Free Data Entitlement (GB) | Validity (days) |
Rs 222 | 1,000 minutes (Jio to Non-Jio FUP) | 56 GB (2GB per day) | 28 days |
Rs 333 | 1,000 minutes (Jio to Non-Jio FUP) | 112 GB (2GB per day) | 56 days |
Rs 444 | 1,000 minutes (Jio to Non-Jio FUP) | 168 GB (2GB per day) | 84 days |
Rs 555 | 3,000 minutes (Jio to Non-Jio FUP) | 168 GB (2GB per day) | 84 days |
The telco claims that these new All-in-One plans are still 20-50 per cent cheaper than what its competitors are offering. Basically, for every Rs 111 additional payment over the base plan (of Rs 222) you’re getting one month of extra validity and benefits.
But, do note that other telecom operators are providing unlimited voice calls to any network in India without any FUP limit or IUC charges.
