Want to push the limits on 4G download, then you need to be on Reliance Jio. The operator has clocked the highest average download speed in 4G at 18.487 Mbps in the month of March 2017. That’s according to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), MySpeed Portal data as on 1st April 2017. That’s almost three times the average download speed offered by other telcos including Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone India.
India’s top telecom operator, Airtel’s average 4G download speed dropped to 9.136 Mbps from earlier 10.439. The biggest drop is seen for Idea Cellular, who’s average 4G download speed now stands at 8.885 Mbps. Previously in the month of February 2017, the download speed was at 12.092 Mbps. Whereas, Vodafone India showed an increase in its average 4G download speed to 9.003 Mbps.

- Reliance Jio got the highest average download speed with 18.487 Mbps. That’s around 2 Mbps speed increase than previous months 16.487 Mbps.
- On the second spot, we have Airtel with average download speed of 6.574 Mbps. Vodafone India stands third with average download speed of 6.146 Mbps. Whereas Idea Cellular dropped to the fourth spot with 5.909 Mbps.
- When checking upload speed, Reliance Jio regains its domination. Jio offers an average upload speed of 4.227 Mbps. Whereas Idea cellular dropped to the second spot with an average upload speed of 4.005 Mbps.
