Rejoice cricket fans, now you can’t miss the chance to post a thrilling status update on Facebook or real-time cricket update on Twitter while watching ICC T20 Cricket World Cup on stands.
The yet to be launched Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio will offer free Jionet Wi-Fi service at all six Cricket stadiums around India during the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2016 beginning today (8th March 2016).
If you are around any of the six stadiums which include M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bangalore), Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (Dharmashala), Eden Gardens (Kolkata), Punjab Cricket Association Stadium (Mohali), Ferozeshah Kotla (New Delhi) and Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), you can enjoy high-speed free Wi-Fi service from Reliance Jio.
Reliance Jio will be using its superior network capacity along with deployment of Jionet High Density that designed with state-of-the-art Wi-Fi access points to provide stable high-speed Wi-Fi coverage in densely packed groups or that will cover the entire stadium.
“Jionet has embarked on this huge project as a part of revolutionizing how spectators experience the games, as they are commonly faced with issues regarding connectivity. Mobile networks aren’t able to handle such large data traffic Jionet will change this – the connectivity will not only be adequate but will actually be many times faster than experienced before. As a result of which, spectators will be able to share their story ball by ball, connect with their friends and family, surf, stay connected on social networking sites, and more” the company said in a statement.
How to Connect to Reliance Jio Jionet Wi-Fi?
- Activate Wi-Fi on you smartphone and select ‘Reliance JioNet WiFi’
- Once connected, open your mobile browser and you will be directed to the Jio login page (or type in jionet.jio.in)
- Enter your mobile number and generate Verification Code that will be sent via SMS
- Use the Verification Code in Login Page to get connected to Jionet Wi-Fi service
Jionet claims to offer download speeds of 50 mbps, but we can expect a download speed of at least 15 mbps. The user will be automatically disconnected from the network if there is no internet activity for 30 minutes. In that case, one can login back to the WiFi network using the same Verification Code used earlier, which is essentially valid for 24 hours.
It doesn’t stop there, as Reliance Jio will be also offering its stat of art Wi-Fi service during the Indian Premier League 2016.
