Xiaomi has come up with yet another affordable fitness band or more of a wearable smartwatch under the sub-brand Redmi. The Chinese company has officially launched the Redmi Smart Band in India.
Quickly running-down the features, the Redmi Smart Band sports a touch colour display, supports continuous heart rate monitoring, tracks fitness activities and sleep, customisable with watch faces and its even water-resistant.
Redmi Smart Band price in India has been set at Rs 1599 and will be an Amazon India exclusive. It will also be available through Mi official online store, Mi Home store and partner offline retailers. The first sale for the wearable will start at 1 pm on September 9. The wearable is available in four colour options (or wristbands colours) Black, Blue, Green, and Orange.
Redmi Smart Band – Features
Redmi Smart Band boasts a 1.08-inch full touch colour LCD screen with a 128 by 220-pixel resolution. Thus making it slightly bigger than the 0.95-inch Mi Band 4, but not that much crisp display like the AMOLED display in the latter. The wearable device is 5ATM water-resistant, thus you can use it while swimming (up to 50 meters deep).
Talking about fitness activities, the Redmi Smart Band comes with five professional sports modes – outdoor running, exercise, cycling, treadmill and power walking. It can monitor those activities, and you can get real-time access to this data. The wearable device comes with a non-intrusive, high precision infrared sensor providing 24×7 or continuous heart rate monitoring. It can also monitor your sleep cycles, and all these data can be accessed in real-time via the Xiaomi wear app.
The Redmi Smart Band supports idle alert, sending you a gentle nudge vibration when sitting for too long. It also comes with raise-to-wake gesture support, which allows you to read new notifications or messages just by raising the wrist. Thus there is no touching the display or press any button required.
Connectivity options in Redmi Smart Band include Bluetooth 5.0 BLE. Coming to battery life, the Redmi Smart Band packs a 130 mAh battery that the company claims to last of 14 full days on a single charge. It comes with a regular USB charging port and cable. Further, the wearable device can work with any Android (4.4 and above) and iOS (9.0 and above) devices.
