Starting today, you can be the first to enjoy the much anticipated Reliance Jio 4G LTE network in the form of Reliance 4G. Reliance Communications (RCom) has started migrating its CDMA voice and data card customers in nine telecom circles to RCom 4G network.

RCom is clearing up its CDMA network to make use of the 850MHz band for 4G LTE operations. To accompany this, the company will be migrating its 50 lakhs + CDMA subscriber base to 4G network in a phased manner before the commercial launch of Reliance 4G and Reliance Jio.

RCom’s phase one migration process is being carried out in nine telecom circles including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Gujarat.

Reliance Communications starts migrating CDMA subscribers to Reliance 4G

RCom CDMA customers can easily migrate to Reliance 4G by getting a new 4G SIM from any of the Reliance Store in their area.

RCom CDMA Mobile to Reliance 4G

After getting the new 4G SIM from any Reliance store, Postpaid CDMA subscribers need to SMS 4G <space> 19 digit SIM number of the new 4G SIM to 1299 from their existing CDMA SIM. One can also call 1299 from their CDMA mobile and enter the new 19-digit 4G SIM number to get it activated.

Customers will get a confirmation SMS about their 4G SIM upgrade, after which they can start using the new 4G SIM.

RCom prepaid CDMA subscribers need to recharge their existing CDMA connection with the 4G upgrade vouchers which will cost around Rs 93 (may vary telecom circle to circle).

After the recharge subscribers need to SMS 4G <space> 19 digit SIM number of the new 4G SIM to 1299 or call 1299 from their CDMA mobile and enter the new 19-digit 4G SIM number.

Customers will get a confirmation SMS about their 4G SIM upgrade, after which they can start using the new 4G SIM.

As a pre-migration benefit CDMA subscribers will get 1GB of 1X/EV EvDO data along with 150 minutes of local and STD voice minutes and unlimited reliance to reliance local and STD minutes for 30 days.

RCom CDMA Datacard to Reliance 4G

RCom prepaid and postpaid CDMA data card subscribers can migrate to Reliance 4G by first recharging their existing CDMA data card with the 4G upgrade voucher costing Rs 75 (may vary telecom circle to circle). Subscribers also need to get a new 4G sim from their nearest Reliance store.

After recharging CDMA data card subscribers need to click on “Upgrade to 4G” banner on the reliance net connect website [reliancenetconnect.co.in]. There one need to fill out the “Upgrade to 4G” form with their existing Reliance CDMA data card number, details of their new 4G SIM, email address, and alternative mobile number to receive the OTP.

After the OTP verification is completed, subscribers can place an order for new 4G data card from the Reliance Communication store [shop.rcom.co.in]. The new 4G data card Wi pod WD670 will be available at a special price of Rs 2,699 for newly upgrading customers.

Subscribers will receive an SMS on their alternate mobile number about the 4G upgrade and then start using the new 4G SIM.
