PUBG Mobile India that’s the new game (or the renamed or relaunch) announced by PUBG Corporation which will be launching in India very soon. The new avatar of the super popular game comes after the Indian government banned the original PUBG Mobile game along with 118 other Chinese apps in the wake of national security.
Those who may not know PUBG Corporation, the parent company (or Parent organisations, KRAFTON) behind PUBG game is actually from South Korea. Shortly after the restriction came into force in India, the PUBG Corporation revoked the PUBG Mobile franchise from Shenzhen-based Tencent Games in India. Also, it took over all the game publishing responsibilities within India. Thus fully cutting down any a Chinese link with the game in India.
Now, the new game PUBG Mobile India has been created specifically for the Indian market. This time around the game will have maximum data security implemented for all its players and fully compile to the local regulations.
“privacy and security of Indian player data being a top priority for PUBG Corporation, the company will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personally identifiable information to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed,” said PUBG Corporation in a statement.
PUBG Mobile India would include versatile in-game contents along with elements customised to reflect local needs. These include virtual simulation training ground setting, player clothing and green hit effects instead of red. Besides, the game will include certain features that would restrict game time for younger players.
Last week, the company inked a global partnership with Microsoft, which would help them to host the game data on Microsoft cloud platform, Azure. It will also be working with Microsoft to ensure personal data protection through Azure. Microsoft currently has three cloud data centres in India.
As part of its wider India push or comeback, the company also plans to invest around $100 million in India to cultivate the local video game, esports, entertainment, and IT industries ecosystems. It would create an Indian subsidiary to enhance communications and services.
“The Indian company will hire over 100 employees specialising in business, e-sports, and game development. In addition to establishing a local office, the company will look to actively collaborate and leverage local businesses to strengthen its gaming service,” said PUBG Corporation in a statement.
As of now, PUBG Corporation has not yet shared the official release date for PUBG Mobile India. We could expect the launch before the end of this year, as the company don’t want to lose its loyal players in one of it’s largest markets.
