If you are too selfie obsessed, then you need that perfect selfie smartphone. The Chinese mobile vendor OPPO has launched its selfie-centric android smartphone Oppo A57 in India. On a quick glance the mobile is equipped with 16-megapixel front-facing camera, Snapdragon chipset, 3 GB of RAM, expandable storage option and 4G LTE network with support for VoLTE.
First going through pricing, the Oppo A57 comes with a price tag of Rs 14,990. The mobile will be available in all the major online including Flipkart and offline retail stores. Sales will commence starting from 3rd February 2017.
Unstoppable Selfies
The Oppo A57 main feature is its 16-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. It features f/2.0 aperture and an all new Beautify 4.0 mode. The advanced Beautify mode allows you to capture detailed photos, giving you bright, clear and stunning shots even in low light. Another feature is the bokeh effect, where in your selfies the subject of the photo is offset and the background is blurred. This gives you a distinct photo effect which usually only possible with DSLR cameras.
The mobile also features the palm shutter function where you only need to open your hand in front of the screen to take a selfie. On the back, the Oppo A57 comes with a 13-megapixel camera featuring Sony’s sensor, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and LED flash.
Power and Performance
The Oppo A57 got a premium build with its metal unibody design. The mobile flaunts a 5.2-inch IPS TFT HD 1280 by 720 pixels display. The screen is further protected with Gorilla Glass 4 and supports both Gloved and Wet Touch input. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. To store all your selfies and other media content the mobile is packed with 32GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 256GB using microSD card.
On connectivity the Oppo A57 carries a Hybrid SIM slot, so you can either use it with dual SIM or with SIM and microSD combination. The mobile supports 4G LTE network that works with all 4G bands in India. The mobile also supports 4G VoLTE for making HD voice and video calls. Other connectivity option includes 3G, 2G, WiFi 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1. The mobile runs Android 6.0 operating system with ColorOS 3.0 skin over the top.
For all day long power, the Oppo A57 comes with 2900mAh battery. The company claims the battery can provide 11 hours of continuous video watching or 23 hours on the phone. For extra security, the mobile also comes with a fingerprint scanner embedded in front home button. The mobile will only be available in Gold color option, but still, you can buy color full back covers for it.
