An end to the hype! OnePlus has finally taken wraps off its new Android Smart TV ranges and announced the OnePlus TV U series and OnePlus TV Y series. Under the OnePlus TV U series, you have the big fully featured packed 55-inch model (55U1) with 4K Ultra HD (3840×2160 pixels). While the OnePlus TV Y series comes in two size – 32-inch model (32Y1) with HD (1366×768 pixels) and the 43-inch model (43Y1) with full HD (1920×1080 pixels).

On a quick round-up, the new OnePlus U and Y series android Smart TVs pack beautiful bezel-less design, 93 per cent Colour Gamut, Gamma Engine, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, lots of connectivity ports and most importantly Android TV 9.0 with OxygenPlay.

Before we jump into the detailed specifications, let’s look at the pricing of these smart TVs. The 55-inch OnePlus TV U series 55U1 with top of the line specification is priced at Rs 49,999. Whereas, the 32-inch OnePlus TV Y series 32Y1 starts at a lower price of Rs 12,999. While the 43-inch OnePlus TV Y series 43Y1 is priced at Rs 22,999.

All three OnePlus TV will be available for purchase exclusively via Amazon India and OnePlus official stores. The first sale for smart TVs would happen on July 5th, 2020. There is also a launch offer where you could get an Amazon Echo Dot at no additional cost.

OnePlus TV U series 55U1

The U series in the OnePlus TV range is actually its mid-range when compared to the original OnePlus TV Q1 series. The OnePlus TV U series 55U1 is ultra-slim with just 6.9mm thickness on sides and have a bezel-less design with up to 95 per cent screen to body ratio.

The OnePlus TV 55U1 flaunts a 55-inch 4K Ultra HD LED screen with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. What makes it more appealing is the 4K clarity with Wide Colour Gamut 93 per cent DCI-P3. It packs OnePlus’s advanced Gamma Engine that enhances the picture quality. It also offers noise reduction, colour space mapping, dynamic contrast, anti-aliasing, AI PQ and MEMC. It also boasts Dolby Vision and supports HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG.

On the software side, OnePlus is packing Android TV 9.0 with OxygenPlay that offers an integrated intelligent experience. You get Smoot interaction, seamless connection with OnePlus Connect app and smart system out of the box. It also comes built-in Chromecast, Miracast and DLNA for easy casting photos and videos from your mobile or other devices. As the Smart TV runs on Android TV OS you get access to Google Play store and a boast of OTT apps including Netflix, Prime Videos, Disney+ Hotstar and more.

Talking about sound, the OnePlus TV 55U1 packs 30 watts down-firing reflex 4-units speaker with Dolby Atmos. For connectivity, the smart TV comes with 2.4 GHz/5 GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. As for ports, you get 3 HDMI input ports with support for ARC, 1 (3 in 1) AV input, 1 optical digital audio out, 1 RF connection input, 1 Ethernet input and 2 USB ports (1 USB 3.0).

OnePlus TV Y series 32Y1 and 43Y1

As you have seen the pricing, the OnePlus TV Y series is positioned at a more affordable rate, yet there is no compromise on the quality and features. Both the OnePlus TV 32Y1 and OnePlus 43Y1 have a bezel-less design with screen to body ratio of up to 91.4 per cent.

OnePlus Y series Android Smart TVs with Cinematic display, Dolby Vision-Atmos

The OnePlus TV 32Y1 got an HD LED screen with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. While the OnePlus TV 43Y1 flaunts a full HD LED screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. They both come with a high colour range of DCI-P3 93 per cent featuring 20 per cent wider colour gamut. They both also get OnePlus’s advanced Gamma Engine offering dynamic picture and enhanced visual quality.

For sound, both the Smart TVs comes with 20W down-firing box speakers and Dolby Audio enhancement. As for connectivity, these smart TVs have Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 5.0. Ports include 2 HDMI input, 1 AV input, 1 optical digital audio output, 2 USB port and 1 Ethernet port. On the software side, you get all the bells and whistles from Android TV 9.0 with OxygenPlay.
