OnePlus has finally taken wrap on its first true wireless earphone and launched the OnePlus Buds (E501A) in India. The new wireless audio earphone was launched alongside the much-hyped OnePlus Nord android smartphone.

Cutting down all the wires, the OnePlus Buds offers a uniquely OnePlus experience in a quiet small compact package. In a nutshell, the earphone offer 30 hours of battery life, environmental noise cancellation support, powerful bass boost, low latency mode perfect for gaming and Warp Charge fast charging support.

Before we get into the details, let’s explore the pricing. The OnePlus Buds will retail for a price tag of Rs 4,990. Sale starts on August 4th and it will be available exclusively via Amazon India, OnePlus official store and regular retail stores across the country.

OnePlus True Wireless Earphones

OnePlus Buds has an ergonomic, half-in-ear design that makes sure a snug fit for a comfortable and extended period of usage. It also takes inspiration from the OnePlus Bullets Wireless series and incorporates the seashell-inspired CD-pattern. While the case is textured to provide a soft outer finish. The earphones themselves weight around 4.7g, while charging case weighs 37g. The buds are IPX4 rated, so it’s safe from splashes and sweat. For colour choices, you have White, Gray and Nord Blue.

Now coming to the hardware part of OnePlus Buds, the true wireless earphone comes with a 13.4mm dynamic driver. It offers richer tones, clearer vocals and deeper bass which allows you to enjoy 3D stereo with Dolby Atmos or stunning sound quality with Dirac Audio Tuner support. The earphones are equipped with environmental noise cancellation algorithm that filters out background noise with ease. It also equips three microphones for improved audio clarity.

OnePlus Buds dynamic driver

OnePlus allows customising the OnePlus Buds taps with double tap and long press functions. Like, you could configure the double-tap function to move to next track, previous track, wake up Google Assistant or play/pause. You could pass for three seconds to instantly switch paired devices or press 5 seconds to receive a call.

OnePlus Buds offers ultra-low-latency audio, which when used with OnePlus’s Fnatic Mode offers a minimum latency of 103ms. That’s said the earphones come with Bluetooth 5 connectivity and have a 10 meters wireless range.

30 Hours of powerful sound

Now to the bigger concern, Battery capacity in OnePlus Buds. The earbuds have a battery capacity of 35mAH each and the case or charging box packs 420mAh battery. So, how good the battery? According to OnePlus, on a full charge, the earphones can offer up to 7 hours of music playback. The case act as a power back and can offers up to 30 hours of listening time (that’s little over three times additional charge).

As the OnePlus Buds support Warp Charge fast charging, you could charge the charging box and earbuds for 10 minutes to get up to 10 hours of battery life. To fully charge the earphones it would take roughly 80 minutes.
