The mid-year ’T’ edition of OnePlus smartphone is here. The mobile vendor has officially taken wrap of its upgraded flagship android smartphone – the OnePlus 8T. Well, we still don’t know what the “T” stands for but, the newest member in the OnePlus 8 series packs upgraded internals and externals. The phone now comes with 120 Hz display up from 90 Hz, 65W fast charging support up from 30W and a quad rear camera instead of the triple camera array in original OnePlus 8.

Quite an upgrade isn’t it? The OnePlus 8T price in India starts at Rs 42,999, which is for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Whereas, the OnePlus 8T model with 12GB RAM and 256 GB storage option will retail for Rs 45,999. For the colour options, you get to choose from Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver.

As always, the OnePlus 8T will be available for purchase exclusively through Amazon India, OnePlus online store and company’s offline retail partners. The phone will be available, 24 hours earlier on October 16, exclusively for Amazon Prime and OnePlus Red Cable members. For the general public, the sale will begin starting October 17, which will also be the start of Amazon Great Indian Festival.

OnePlus 8T detailed specification and features

Ultra Smooth Scrolling

The OnePlus 8T just like its predecessor get a slim and sleek built with Matte AG glass finish. The phone flaunts 6.55-inch full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display with an ultra-smooth 120 Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio. It also features 402ppi pixel density, and supports sRGB and Display P3 colour profiles. The screen also gets an A+ rating from DisplayMate, HDR 10+ and SGS certification. Also, underneath the display is the in-display Fingerprint Sensor.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 8T packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor coupled with Adreno 650 GPU. This top-of-the-line chip is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 2-LANE internal storage. Nop, there is no expandable storage option available. The phone runs on almost stock-like Android 11 OS with OxygenOS skin over the top.

To keep everything cool inside-out during intense gameplay or 4K video shooting the phone comes with a dedicated, multi-layered gaming-grade cooling system.

Quad camera

Adding one more camera, OnePlus 8T now has quad-camera setup at the rear. These include a combination of 48-megapixel primary camera with Sony IMX56 lens, f/1.75 aperture and OIS, EIS support, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with 123-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens.

This camera array can shoot 4K videos at 60fps and supports both Super Slow Motion and Time-Lapse videos.

At the front, the OnePlus 8T boasts a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 camera with EIS and f/2.4 aperture housed in the hole-punch cutout at the top left corner of the screen.

Ultra-Fast Charging

As for connectivity, the OnePlus 8T comes with dual nano-SIM slot (dual 4G SIM and single 5G SIM) with support for 5G network along with 4G LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFi, 3G and 2G networks. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax) 2×2 MIMO and 2.4G/5G support, Bluetooth 5.1 with support for aptX & aptX HD & LDAC & AAC), NFC and Type-C. For global positioning, it packs GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou and A-GPS. For audiophiles, the phone comes with Dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers onboard.

OnePlus 8T carries a 4400 mAh battery (2S1P 2,250 mA) that can last all day long. But the real highlight here is the Warp Charge 65 which offers 65 fast charging solution. Using this you could charge the phone from 0 to 100 per cent in just 39 minutes or if you are in a bit hurry, then up to 58 per cent charge in 15 minutes.
