Ola Cabs has launched an in-cab entertainment platform dubbed as ‘Ola Play’ that lets you enjoy music, TV shows, radio and more in your cab. It even allows you to control the air conditioning. The company touts it to be the world’s first connected car platform for ridesharing.

Ola’s proprietary in-car and cloud technologies are powering the Ola Play platform. Ola has partnered with Qualcomm to built the platforms hardware part. It offers customers an immersive ride experience with a range of infotainment options and enhanced driver assistance. Once you get into an Ola cab, you can control music, change radio, watch TV shows, control air conditioning, and other features. You will also get free access to high-speed internet in the cab.

For the connected entertainment contents, Ola has partnered with Apple Music, Sony LIV, All India Bakchod (AIB), audio compass and Fynd. You can sync your Apple Music playlist or Sony LIV TV shows directly with Ola Play ecosystem and enjoy it while on a ride. Third-party developers will also be able to develop apps for Ola Play.

Ola Play will be first available for Ola Select customers in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi starting this week (November 2016). Within next three months, Ola Prime customers across various cities can enjoy Ola Play. By end of March 2017, the platform will be available to over 50,000 vehicles.
