Now no more scribbling through the WiFi passwords while on an Ola cab. India’s popular online transportation company Ola now let its users auto-connect to WiFi in an Ola cab without having to enter WiFi credentials every single time.

From company’s innovation labs, Auto-Connect Wi-Fi feature allows users to have a one-time authentication for Ola WiFi on their phones.

Once the user completes the one-time authentication process they can connect to Ola WiFi on their device while taking a ride in any Ola cabs without having to key in login credentials and passwords every time. An experience just like connecting to home and office networks, while in a cab.

We are thrilled to bring our proprietary Ola Wi-Fi experience to users, changing the way they will stay connected on the move. As part of Ola’s Innovation Labs, this first of its kind experience is in line with the Government’s initiatives of Digital India” said Ankit Bhati, Co-founder & Chief Technology Officer at Ola. “We also see this as the beginning of connected cities, with hundreds of thousands of vehicles connecting millions of users on the go!” he added.

According to Ola around, 65 percent of Ola Prime customers connect on in-cab WiFi service and have consumed over 200TB of data on a monthly basis.

Currently, Ola Auto-Connect Wi-Fi feature is available for free on Ola Prime rides and will soon expanded across Micro, Mini and Auto-rickshaws rides available on the Ola app.
