Nokia Siemens Networks has emerged as the leading 3G mobile infrastructure and services vendor in India with 30% market share. The company has won deals from Aircel, Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Tata Teleservices and Vodafone for the deployment of 3G networks in twenty of the country’s telecom circles. With the rapid growth of smart mobile devices in India, a strong 3G infrastructure will boost the country’s broadband penetration.

Nokia Siemens Networks has won 3G deals in 13 category B circles, some of India’s fastest growing areas. A rapid adoption of 3G in these circles can substantially bridge India’s digital divide by making mobile broadband available across these regions. Additionally, Nokia Siemens Networks strengthened its portfolio with 3G deals in four category A circles, two Metro circles and one Category C circle (Bihar).

Most of these 3G deals include managed services contracts, which further reiterate Nokia Siemens Networks’ position as the clear leader in supplying managed services in India. Nokia Siemens Networks is now the largest partner to Vodafone and Idea Cellular for their 3G roll outs.

Currently a GSM market leader and serving 10 operators in managed services, packet core and GSM-R markets, Nokia Siemens Networks has consolidated its leadership position further in India thanks to its leadership 3G leadership.

Nokia Siemens Networks’ award winning, compact, easy to install and energy saving LTE-enabled Flexi Base Station and Radio Network Controller will make 3G services come alive for these five operators. Nokia Siemens Networks has also extended its advanced data traffic management capabilities to improve end-user experience and handle the impending data traffic explosion from the growth of smart devices through its Quality-of-Service features for optimizing 3G/HSPA/HSPA+ networks.
