That’s their first, once world’s dominant mobile manufacturer is entering the tablet race against iOS and Android devices with Windows operating system. Nokia has officially unveiled its first tablet the Lumia 2520 running the Windows RT 8.1 operating system (Windows RT is a ripped off version of original Windows OS where you can’t run usual desktop software’s. but only the apps from Windows Store).

Nokia Lumia 2520 features a 10.1 inch full HD IPS LCD display with the best screen readability of 650 nits peak brightness. It’s powered by a Quad-core 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM. It got a mass memory of 32GB which can also be extended up to additional 32GB using microSD card. Other features include the 4G LTE connectivity  which is also compatible with GSM and WCDMA bands. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. The tablet packs a powerful 6.7MP camera with ZEISS optics letting people take beautiful pictures – even in low light and 2 megapixel front facing camera. Nokia claims maximum standby time of 25days with a battery capacity of 8000 mAh.

On the software front the Lumia 2520 runs on the latest released Windows RT 8.1 operating system along with a number of unique software’s. Like the Nokia Storyteller, an application that introduces a new way to curate and relive images and videos as a story on a map, as well as Nokia Video Director, which offers the ability to edit and get even more creative with videos shot on the Lumia 2520 – as well as content from Lumia smartphones. It also comes with integrated HERE Maps which offers true offline maps for a fast and reliable maps experience.The tablet also includes an exclusive version of Nokia Music with Mix Radio preinstalled and Dragons Adventure interactive game developed in partnership with DreamWorks Animation.

Extra accessories paired with Lumia 2520 include the Nokia Power Keyboard, which is a fully functional keypad with gesture trackpad and in addition it offers up to five extra hours of battery life and two built-in USB ports.

Nokia Lumia 2520 is available in red-white glossy finish and cyan-black matte finish with a price tag of $499 (Aprox. 30,100) and expected to start shipping in Q4 2013 begining in US, U.K and Finland.
