Nokia India announced partnership with India’s top telecom operators Airtel and Vodafone to offer operator billing solution for Nokia app store to customers of these two telecom operators. Nokia India has already got a partnership with Reliance Communication (RCOM) on this matter. Thus now customers under this operators can download the paid contents from Nokia Store and will pay through their monthly mobile phone bills or  the amount will be deducted from the pre-paid balance.

Sanjoy Mukerji, Vodafone India’s chief commercial officer said “This will enable purchase of Nokia Store applications through an operator billing process. This would also offer significant monetization opportunities to developers and galvanise local content development.”

N Rajaram, Airtel’s chief marketing officer said “This partnership will strengthen our efforts to increase usage of mobile internet services,”

Nokia India has also announced in-app billing solutions for developers, which allow consumers to purchase digital content directly from within the application’s interface.

Viral Oza Nokia India marketing director said “We believe our partnership with Vodafone and Airtel will provide more and more consumers easy access to paid content on the Nokia Store. This is also a significant step for our developer partners.”
