As a major relief to Nokia owners, HMD Global the mobile vendor behind Nokia branded android smartphones has confirmed that all its mobiles will receive the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update. This includes the recently launched Nokia 8, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and even the budget friendly Nokia 3.
HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas in a tweet confirmed the update of Nokia mobiles to Android Oreo. But, he didn’t reveal any specific time line for the update.
With the current track record of Nokia on Android updates, we can expect to get an upgrade to Android Oreo by end of this year. Nokia has been prompt in releasing security patch updates and new features to its android smartphones. Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 already been updated with the August 2017 security patch update. Actually, it’s been rolled out on the same day, Google is releasing the update to its Pixel and Nexus devices.
HMD Global has time and again stressed the importance of timely Android update. On most of its smartphones, the company is packing pure Android experience with no unnecessary extras or bloatware.
