Within a few months after the MWC 2018, HMD Global the mobile vendor behind Nokia branded smartphones are launching a slew of its next-generation android smartphones in India. The company is officially launching the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco android smartphones in India. The company has already released the Nokia 1 Android Go edition smartphone in India with Jio Cashback offer.
All the three new Nokia smartphones will cover the affordable section, mid-range and premium section of Indian mobile market. These smartphones run on Android One platform which offers stock Android experience, have 4G VoLTE support, equipped with Snapdragon SoC and come with support for AI technology.
First going through the pricing, the Nokia 6 (2018) is priced at Rs 16,999 and will be available starting 16th April 2018 exclusively on Amazon India. Nokia 7 Plus will retail for Rs 25,999 with pre-booking starting on 20th April. While the actual sale starts on 30th April 2018 exclusively on Amazon India. Finally, the premium Nokia 8 Sirocco is priced at Rs 49,999. Pre-booking for the mobile starts on April 20 exclusively at Flipkart and actual sale will happen on 30th April 2018. All these smartphones will be also available in offline mobile stores across India.
Nokia 6 (2018)
A quick rundown on this years Noki 6 android smartphone. The mobile boasts a uni-body 6000 series aluminum solid material build. The mobile flaunts a 5.5-inch IPS LCD Full HD display (1920 x 1080) with a 16:9 aspect ratio and covered in Corning gorilla 2.5D glass over the top. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 128 GB using microSD card. The phone is an Android One smartphone, and it runs on stock Android Oreo out-of-the-box.
On the photography side, the Nokia 6 (2018) boasts a 16-megapixel PDAF rear camera with f2 aperture and dual LED flash. For selfie addicts, there is an 8-megapixel front camera with the f2 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens. It also supports Nokia’s famous Dual-view mode.
As for connectivity, the Nokia 6 (2018) supports 4G LTE network that works with every Indian telcos 4G band. Along with it, you also get VoLTE support for making HD voice calls. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G networks, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C port. Fuelled by a 3000 mAh battery, it also comes with a fast USB-Type C charger.
Nokia 7 Plus
India may have missed the original Nokia 7, but HMD Global is bringing the revived Nokia 7 Plus to India. The phone got a solid built with Series 6000 aluminum that’s curved on the back along with slim edges. It flaunts 6-inch IPS LCD full HD+ display (2160 x 1080, 18:9) which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mobile platform paired with 4GB of RAM. It’s accompanied by a faster 64 GB eMMC 5.1 internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 256GB using microSD card. The phone runs on pure Android Oreo OS and is part of Google’s Android One initiative.
Now to the main attraction of Nokia 7 Plus, the enhanced dual rear sensors with ZEISS optics. It combines an ultra-sensitive 12-megapixel wide-angle primary ZEISS camera with f/1.7 aperture and a secondary 13-megapixel telephoto ZEISS camera with f/2.6 aperture. For selfies, the phone comes with a 16-megapixel front camera with ZEISS optics.
Coming to connectivity, Nokia 7 Plus supports 4G LTE network with VoLTE, 3G and 2G networks, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and NFC. For extra security, the mobile has a fingerprint scanner placed on the back of the device. Fuelling the phone is a 3800 mAh non-removable battery.
Nokia 8 Sirocco
Nokia 8 Sirocco is the premium android smartphone from Nokia family. Its built out of a single piece of a stainless steel frame with a curved glass finish. It’s also IP68 certified making it water and dust resistant from all sides. It flaunts a 5.5-inch QHD 2K pOLED curved edge-to-edge display with smaller bezels and moulded body curves. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile platform paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128GB of USF 2.1 storage. The phone runs on Android Oreo OS and is part of Google’s Android One initiative.
Nokia 8 Sirocco boasts dual rear camera sensors with ZEISS optics. This includes a combination of 12-megapixel wide-angle primary ZEISS camera with f/1.7 aperture and 78.2-degree field of view. Paired with a secondary 13-megapixel telephoto ZEISS camera with f/2.6 aperture that delivers 2x optical zoom. For selfies, the mobile packs an ultra-sensitive 5-megapixel wide-angle lens supported with display flash.
For audiophiles, the Nokia 8 Sirocco has a single speaker system with Smart Amp. With its three high-quality microphones, the phone can record every sonic nuance with Nokia spatial audio, dubbed as “pro audio”. Coming to connectivity, Nokia 8 Sirocco supports 4G LTE network with full VoLTE support. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G network support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (MIMO), Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and NFC. Fueling the phone is a 3260 mAh battery that supports Qi Wireless Charging.
