Last years super hit and budget-friendly android smartphones Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 2 just got an update on their hardware and software part. HMD Global the company behind Nokia smartphones has announced the 2018 version of these android smartphones – Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1.

The trio will now offer purest Android experience with Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1 being Android One smartphone. Whereas the Nokia 2.1 is snappier with its Android Go edition OS. In addition, these phones get the big full-screen display and updated processors. As always, there is no compromise on the design, style and robust feel you would expect in a Nokia phone.

Nokia 5.1 specification and features

The premium of the three, Nokia 5.1 is made with a single block of 6000 series aluminium that’s still compact, yet maintain the classic Nokia design. The mobile flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD+ display (2160 by 1080 pixels) with 18:9 aspect ratio covered in 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a 2.0 GHz MediaTek Helio P18 octa-core processor paired with 2GB or 3GB of RAM. For storage, you could choose from 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB using microSD card.

Nokia 5.1 specification and features

Coming to photography, the Nokia 5.1 features a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and dual-LED flash support. For selfie addicts, there is an 8-megapixel wide-angle front camera. The phone comes with 4G LTE which also supports VoLTE calling. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G network options, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. There is a fingerprint scanner placed at the back of the device. Finally, fuelling the device is a 2970mAh battery which the company says to offer more than a day’s battery, thanks to the pure Android OS it runs.

Nokia 5.1 is priced at Euro 189, that’s around INR 15,000 and will be available from July 2018. For colour choices, you could choose from Copper, Tempered Blue and Black.

Nokia 3.1 specification and features

The original Nokia 3 was one of the most successful models of Nokia in India. The company has now with Nokia 3.1 wants to ensure that the trend stays and upsells its previous generation. The mobile features CNC’d aluminium chassis with a polycarbonate back. It flaunts a 5.2-inch HD+ display (720 by 1440 pixels) with 18:9 aspect ratio and covered in the 2.5D curved glass over the top. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by an octa-core MediaTek 6750 chipset paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage or 3GB RAM and 32GB storage options. You could also further expand the storage up to 128GB using microSD card.

Nokia 3.1 specification and features

On the photography side, the Nokia 3.1 boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera with led flash and an 8-megapixel front camera with a wide 84.6-degree field of view. For connectivity, you would get 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Fuelling the device is a 2990 mAh battery.

Nokia 3.1 is priced starting at Euro 139 or around INR 10,900. The phone will be available globally starting June 2018. On missing feature on the phone is the lack of fingerprint scanner, that’s too a phone launching in 2018.

Now moving to the cheapest option of the three, the Nokia 2.1 is a compact smartphone which can easily offer up to 2-day battery life. It got polycarbonate back with the front portion packing the 5.5-inch HD display. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor paired with 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB using microSD card. The phone runs on Android Oreo Go Edition, the super optimized version of original Android OS.

Coming to photography, the Nokia 2.1 sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash support. For selfie addicts, there is a 5-megapixel front camera. As for connectivity, you get the usual 4G LTE with VoLTE support, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For audiophiles, the phone packs dual speakers with bespoke 3D formed stainless steel offering stereo quality sound output. The mobile get’s its juice from a bigger 4000 mAh battery that can easily help it to last for two or more days.
