Good old trusted classic Nokia 3310 gets a super modern avatar. HMD Global the mobile vendor behind Nokia branded mobiles has announced the 4G variant of its Nokia 3310 called the “Nokia 3310 4G“.

Nokia 3310 4G got the cute and classic design you loved from the original Nokia 3310 but now loaded with modern features. This includes 4G TD-LTE network support, VoLTE for HD voice calling and WLAN hotspot support.

Looking back in history, the mobile vendor revived the old classic with the relaunch Nokia 3310 during MWC 2017. It was priced Rs 3310 in India and was received well by its hardcore Nokia fans. Citing popularity, within a few months the company launched the 3G variant of the feature phone called Nokia 3310 3G.

Nokia 3310 4G Specification and Features

Design and build quality of Nokia 3310 4G remain almost the same with a toughened plastic body covering the front and back with a matte texture. The colourful candy bar get’s two classic colours – fresh blue and deep black.

Nokia 3310 4G flaunts a 2.4-inch (320 x 240) QVGA polarised and curved display. The polarised layer over the screen allows better readability even in direct sunlight. The device runs on Alibaba’s YunOS which may be specific to the Chinese market. When coming to international market, it may run the ‘Feature OS powered by Java’ or even the Android Oreo Go edition. It also comes preloaded with popular apps and games.

Internal memory has been boosted up to 512MB MB. You can further expand the storage up to 64GB using microSD card. For photography, you get a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash support.

Now to the main features, Nokia 3310 4G as the name suggest supports 4G TD-LTE networks. It has support for 4G TDD B38 / 41, 39, 40 bands which will also work with Indian telcos 4G band. In addition, you also get VoLTE support for making HD voice calls. What makes the phone more attractive is the WLAN 802.11 b/g/n availability. This allows you to turn the phone into a portable WiFi hotspot and share internet connection with other devices.

Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB interface, 3.5mm headphone jack type port and FM radio support. Finally fuelling the Nokia 3310 4G is a 1200 mAh BL-4UL battery that can last for 5 hours 4G VoLTE (LTE) talk time.

Currently, the Nokia 3310 4G is available only in the Chineese market with no solid news about the international launch. We can expect an official global launch during the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2018.
