Want to get thrilled watching Sacred Games or experience the sweet little moments in Little Things? You definitely need a Netflix account. For Indians, the subscription fees were a little high. Starting at Rs 499 per month, Netflix paid subscription remained one of the costlier video streaming platforms in India. To catch up with the rivals and to expand in a mobile-first data-hungry India userbase, Netflix has rolled out an India special mobile-only premium subscription plan at just Rs 199 per month.
Netflix’s mobile subscription plan enables new Indian customers signing up on its platform to stream video content on a single mobile or tablet device in standard definition (SD). You get the stream each and every video content in the platform which include thousands of original web series, movies and documentaries.
“Our members in India watch more on their mobiles than members of any other country in the world and they love to download our shows and films. We believe this new plan will make Netflix even more accessible and better suit people who like to watch on their smartphones and tablets both on the go and at home,” commented Ajay Arora, Director, Product Innovation, Netflix.
As we mentioned earlier, the new Rs 199 Netflix subscription plan is mobile-only (tablet included). You could only stream videos on a single mobile device at a time. You won’t be able to stream on desktop, laptop, SmartTVs, FireTV or Chromecast. Also, the plan only offers SD quality video content, thus you can’t access HD or ultra HD contents. Yet, this plan allows downloading videos to your device for offline viewing.
