To lure more Indian users and to get a bigger exposure in the Tier2 and Tier 3 cities, online streaming giant Netflix has added its first India localised version of its user interface – Hindi.
The Hindi language in Netflix is been added to every consumer-facing user interface. These include the initial sign-up or login page, along with movies, TV shows and Documentary titles, description and other details, search interface and even the payment/subscription section.
New users to Netflix could instantly switch to Hindi interface by choosing the language selection bar at the bottom of the page. For existing Netflix subscribers, you can switch your primary language to Hindi by going to Settings > Manage Profile > Language. Language selection is profile-specific, thus it won’t affect other users of the same Netflix account (available on higher Netflix paid plans).
Currently, Netflix supports 27 global languages, and in India, it offers the service now in English and Hindi (default set of languages). The Hindi-language interface on the streaming platform is not limited to users in India but would be available to worldwide users who can change to their desired language from the settings.
“Delivering a great Netflix experience is as important to us as creating great content. We believe the new user interface will make Netflix even more accessible and better suit members who prefer Hindi,” said Monika Shergill, Netflix India’s VP of content in a statement.
Netflix is trying all its efforts to reach all range of people. Recently, the streaming giant started testing an affordable Mobile plus plan priced at Rs 349 per month. Under this plan, you could stream all the TV shows, Movies and Documentaries in Netflix in high definition or HD on a mobile screen as well as in a bigger desktop/laptop screen.
