Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) Mumbai, the state owned telecom service provider has announced the launch of an innovative ‘Broadband For Every Home‘ Plan with maximum downloading speed of 2Mbps at just Rs 300 per year, that’s only Rs 25 per day, thus making the broadband affordable among users.
Broadband For Every Home is offered at an annual service charges of Rs 300 which will be taken in the 1st bill. This plan has a maximum download speed of upto 2 Mbps and upload speed of upto 512 Kbps with a free data usage of 50 MB per month for a complete year. Additional usage beyond the free usage will be charged at a rate of 51 MB to 500 MB at 50p/MB, 501 MB to 1 GB at 30p/MB and 1 GB onwards at 20p/MB. There is a bill cap of Rs 5,500 per month for usage, so for users using broadband beyond the bill cap it will be FREE unlimited usage at 2Mbps download speed. There is additional monthly modem charges of Rs 50 per month (for MTNL Modem) with MTNL Modem up-front charges of Rs 300 for normal modem and Rs 600 for Wireless modem. Their will be also an additional installation and testing charge of Rs 200.
In case of plan change within one year Annual service charges of Rs.300 will be adjusted on prorata basis. Bill CAP of Rs 5,500 per month is only for broadband usage charges. Landline charges applicable extra as per chosen plan. The new broadband plan is being offered on promotional basis for a period of 90 days from 20th Feb to 18th May’2012.
