Now no more slow broadband internet connection for Mumabi crowd, as state-owned telecom service provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) Mumbai has upgraded their minimum broadband speed from existing 512Kbps to 1Mbps on all broadband plans.
“This is one more customer centric lead taken by us towards providing a minimum broadbrand speed of upto 2 Mbps to all the customers by the year 2015 to usher in the National Telecom Policy 2012. Our broadband serving capacity in Mumbai is for 8 lakh customers and with this new initiative we this new initiative we think we will constraint our capacity in next six months” said A K Garg, Chairman and Managing Director, MTNL Mumbai.
The upgraded speed and new broadband plans are mainly focused to attract new customers, but existing broadband customers can migrate to the higher speed plans by calling the customer care (Dial 1500 from MTNL landline). Unlimited broadband plans now starts at Rs 550 per month offering a speed of 1Mbps with no speed limit or FUP. Customer looking for Xpress+ Unlimited broadband plans can get started with Rs 699 per month which offers download speed of 2Mbps upto 12GB and afterward 1Mbps unlimited.
From today onwards, MTNL Mumbai will not offer new customers with broadband plans having 512Kbps minimum speed, instead they will need to choose the new broadband plans above, however for all existing customer, can still continue to use their old broadband plan, if they desire.
Also note that the above revised broadband plans are promotional offer effective for a period of 90 days from today (12th November 2013). So hurry up get yourself a high-speed broadband service from MTNL.
