Budget Android smartphones have now a new standard, as Motorola has unveiled its newest and most affordable smartphone – Moto E in India with a hardware specification that fully justifies for the money you give. Moto E is priced at Rs 6,999 and will be exclusively available at Flipkart starting tonight.
So what’s under the hood of the affordable Moto E? let’s find out. Moto E features a 4.3 inches display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and with a pixel density of 256 ppi. It’s protected with Corning Gorilla Glass and a water-resistant splash guard on the inside as well as the outside, that protect the smartphone against accidental splash of water.
Moto E is powered by 1.2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with dual-core A7 CPU and 1GB RAM along with Adreno 302 400MHz single-core GPU, which is one of the best in class processor at the price range. It includes 4GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD card. On the rear it got a 5 megapixel camera with Motorola’s streamlined camera interface, but lacks the front-facing camera.
On the software side Moto E runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 Kitkat mobile platform that offers almost pure Android experience with a guaranteed upgrade to new releases. We see no smartphones in the low-end segment Indian market offering the latest Android OS with the future updates.
On the connectivity side Moto E supports 3G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA+ up to 21 Mbps), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The smartphones dual-SIM card slot with intelligent calling function that learns users usage and automatically selects the SIM based on the contact they are calling.
Moto E also features the interchangeable backs called the Motorola Shells which provides many color and design combinations to let users customize the look of their phone.

Similar to Moto G and Moto X launch in India, Flipkart has bagged the exclusive rights for Moto E sales in India. For the launch day Flipkart is offering some exclusive offers for early buyers. The e-commerce site will be offering flat 50 percent discount on Moto E’s removable back panels or Motorola Shells which will come in nine colour options. It’s also offering 50 percent discount on 8GB Transcend microSD card when you buy it alongside the device. Further more Flipkart will also be offering free eBooks worth Rs 1,000 with the purchase of Moto E during the launch period.
