After laying low for a couple of months, Lenovo backed Motorola is back with a new android smartphone. The mobile vendor has embraced the new design trends to launch the Motorola One Power smartphone in India.

As the name suggests ‘Motorola One Power’ runs on pure Android OS under the Android One initiative. It features a bigger display, but with the infamous notch. You also get a bigger battery that could easily last up to two days, so you can keep on watching movies or playing PUBG for hours.

Motorola One Power is available in 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model, which is priced at Rs 15,999. The phone is available to purchase exclusively via Flipkart and first sales will happen on at 5th October 2018.

Motorola One Power boasts a curved metal body frame that’s modern and that also somewhat a departure from Motorola’s usual design. The mobile flaunts a 6.2-inch LCD Max Vision Full HD+ display featuring a 19:9 aspect ratio. So, you end up with the infamous notch or cut out on the top of the display.

Under the hood, the Motorola One Power is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 1.8GHz octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage combination. You could even upgrade the storage up to 256GB using microSD card. As we said earlier, the phone will run on pure Android 8.1 Oreo-based OS, as part of Android One initiative. The company also guarantees Android 9 Pie update for the phone by October 2018.

Coming to photography, the Motorola One Power gets a dual rear camera and a single selfie front camera. Instead of the usual circle design for the back camera, the company has now adopted a vertically stacked dual rear camera unit. It’s a combination of the 16-megapixel camera featuring f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. Along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera featuring a f/2.2 aperture for depth sensing. These cameras can also shoot 4K quality videos. For selfies, the phone boasts a 12megapixel front-facing camera featuring f/2.0 aperture, LED flash support and a selfie portrait mode powered by AI.

As for connectivity, the dual SIM Motorola One Power supports, 4G LTE, VoLTE, 3G and 2G network options. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For extra security, there is a fingerprint sensor at the rear. Finally, fuelling the whole device is a 5,000 battery that could last more than two days of heavy usage. For audiophiles, the mobile packs an 84 decibels bottom firing speaker with Dolby Audio. It also features a 15W TurboPower charger, that could pump-in up to 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.
