Upgrading the hardware inside out, Motorola has launched the next generation or we can say the 2016 edition of Moto G smartphones in India – Moto G (4th Generation) and Moto G (4th Generation) Plus.

First comes the pricing part, Motorola has not announced the pricing for Moto G4 and will not go on sale until next month. On the other hand, Moto G4 Plus with 16GB internal storage variant is priced at Rs 13,499 and the Moto G4 Plus with 32GB internal storage variant is priced at Rs 14,499. Both Moto G4 Plus variant will go on sale starting tonight (17th May 2016) exclusively on Amazon India.

Moto G (4th Generation)

Design wise Moto G (4th Generation) got a streamlined design with a super slim profile of just 7.9 mm and weighs 155g. The phone got rounded edge making it easy to hold in one hand. This time, Motorola has gone with a micro-textured finish on the back that offers much more grip while holding the smartphone.

Moto G (4th Generation) flaunts a 5.5 inch full HD display with 401 ppi and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is powered by 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and Adreno 405 @550Mhz GPU.

The Moto G4 will have only the 16GB internal storage variant with no option to expand the storage. On the photography side, Moto G4 got a 13-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture and color balancing dual LED flash. For selfie lovers, the phone carries a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with an 84-degree wide-angle lens to cover your friends face too.

On the connectivity side, the dual-SIM Moto G (4th Generation) got 4G LTE capability that supports all Indian 4G bands along with VoLTE support, 3G, 2G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options. As always the smartphones runs on almost pure android v 6.0.1 Marshmallow with some preloaded Motorola apps.

Moto G (4th Generation) Plus

The bigger sibling of Moto G4 is the Moto G (4th Generation) Plus having almost similar design and build, but got an upgraded camera, extra fingerprint sensor, and more storage/RAM variant.

Moto G4 Plus also flaunts the same 5.5 inches full HD display with 401 ppi. The mobile is powered by 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM for the 16GB internal storage variant and 3GB RAM for the 32GB internal storage variant.

So probably the 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant will offer much more performance boost and multitasking capabilities. In addition, the storage can also be expanded further using a microSD card up to 128GB.

On the photography side, Moto G4 Plus got a better 16-megapixel rear camera that comes with OmniVision sensor, laser auto-focus, Phase Detection Autofocus support and color balancing dual LED flash. For selfie lovers, the phone have the 5-megapixel front-facing camera with an 84-degree wide-angle lens.

On the connectivity side, the dual-SIM Moto G4 Plus got 4G LTE capability with VoLTE support along with 3G, 2G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options. For added security the mobile comes with a fingerprint sensor that can unlock the phone in less than 750 milliseconds.
