After the gorgeous leaks a week back, Motorola has now officially launched the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at MWC 2017 in Barcelona. Well, we already unveiled everything that’s going inside out of the smartphone. Yet on a quick glance, the mobiles feature full HD display, Snapdragon SoC, up to 4GB of RAM, Android Nougat, Water repellent coating and 4G with VoLTE support.
As for the pricing, the Moto G5 with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage will come with a price tag of EUR 199 or approximately Rs 14,000. The Moto G5 Plus with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage variant will cost you EUR 229 or approximately Rs 16,200. The top spec Moto G5 Plus variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage will sell for EUR 279 or approximately Rs 19,700. If you are ready to get hands on it, then all the variants will be available in India by March-April 2017.
Moto G5 Spec
The fifth-generation Moto G5 got a premium metal design made of high-grade aluminium. The mobile flaunts a 5-inch full HD 1080p LCD display with a pixel density of 44 1ppi. The screen is well protected with Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with up to 3GB of RAM. For storing all your music, movies and other data, the mobile comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 128GB using microSD card.
On the photography side, the Moto G5 packs a 13-megapixel camera. It features f/2.0 aperture, Phase detects autofocus (PDAF) and LED flash support. On the front for selfie addicts, the mobile comes with a 5-megapixel. It features a wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture and comes with display flash support.
Moto G5 Plus Spec
Well Moto G5 Plus packs a better hardware than its little brother Moto G5. Design-wise the Moto G5 Plus have the same metal unibody design. The mobile flaunts a slightly bigger 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p display with a pixel density of 424 ppi. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with up to 4GB of RAM. You can either choose the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant or the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. In both cases, the storage can be further expanded up to 128GB using microSD card.
On the photography side, the Moto G5 Plus comes with a 12-megapixel ‘dual autofocus pixel’ camera on the back. The camera utilises 10 times more pixels on the sensor, so it can lock onto your subject up to 60 percent faster. That also allows you to take perfect clarity photos day or night. Other than that the back camera features f/1.7 aperture, and colour balancing dual LED flash support. For selfie lovers, the mobile comes with the same 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens.
Connectivity and Features
As for connectivity, the Moto G5 and G5 plus supports 4G LTE that works with all Indian 4G bands. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G networks, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and micro USB options.
On both mobiles, the fingerprint scanner is embedded in the front home button. With Moto Action, you can use gestures to open the camera, turning on flashlights and also do various other tasks. Both mobiles are protected from water spills, splashed and little rain via the water-repellent nanocoating. Finally, both mobile runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS with almost stock UI.
