Microsoft Unveils Revamped New Brand logo, a change since 25 years

Microsoft got itself a revamped new look after 25 years, today by unveiling a new corporate logo. The new logo design takes its inspiration from all product design principles while drawing upon the heritage of Microsoft brand values, fonts and colors. The new logo is a squared four panel colored window with resemblance to grid layout.

From Windows 8 to Windows Phone 8 to Xbox services to the next version of Office, you will see a common look and feel across these products providing a familiar and seamless experience on PCs, phones, tablets and TVs. This wave of new releases is not only a reimagining of Microsoft most popular products, but also represents a new era for Microsoft, so the logo should evolve to visually accentuate this new beginning.

The new logo has two components: the logotype and the symbol. For the logotype, Microsoft are using the Segoe font which is the same font used in most of their products as well as on marketing communications. The symbol is important in a world of digital motion, the symbol’s squares of color are intended to express the company’s diverse portfolio of products.

Microsoft new logo will be now used prominently on all places including the online and offline destination including the Microsoft.com, Microsoft stores and for all marketing activities.
