Microsoft has officially launched the public beta or consumer preview of their latest operating system Windows 8, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Finally general public has got a chance to download the preview version and try out the new operating system for free, ahead of its launch. The new OS from the Microsoft family brings out lots of changes to the traditional OS we are using till now. It features an awesome Metro UI, bringing in touch-friendly apps, enabling support for tablets. Also for PC lovers, it has also got the enriched old user interface.
Now coming to the download part, Microsoft has released an early preview version of it newest OS, which can be download from Microsoft’s official site itself. . Microsoft has guaranteed that users can install Windows 8 on any PC that can run Windows 7, so if you want to try it you can install it on your current Windows 7 PC without much issues. As always, don’t forgot to keep a backup of your existing data.
Windows 8 Consumer Preview is prerelease software and it can be substantially modified before it’s commercially released. Microsoft makes no warranties, express or implied, with respect to the information provided. Microsoft warns that some product features and functionality of the new OS may require additional hardware or software, like for the touch apps.
