The tablet space is heating up, to compete with popular Apple iPad and Android based tablets Microsoft unveiled its own hardware tablet running the latest Windows OS 8 the Microsoft Surface. Microsoft has two version of tablets ready for release the Surface for Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro models.
Surface tablets are thin, light and full compact. With a size 9.3mm, Surface for Windows RT is just thin enough to hold a full-sized USB port. Surface has a 10.6 inch, 16:9 widescreen HD Display with Microsoft’s ClearType HD Display technology which delivers stunning crispy pictures. An ultra-wide viewing angle makes it easy for users to share in the vibrant experience. The auto-adjusting screen intensity delivers great visual clarity, indoors and out. Surface comes with a fully integrated Kickstand and a revolutionary, 3mm thin, pressure sensitive cover that doubles as a fully functioning keyboard and trackpad. The Touch Cover is being connects to the Surface tablet with a simple magnetic lock. The material for Surface tablet is crafted from VaporMg casing that protects the vital technology inside and leaves a high quality finish and feel.
Surface tablet for Windows RT will be running on NVidia’s ARM processor, and surface tablet for Windows 8 Pro will be running on Intel’s Ivy Bridge. Have a look at the features and options available with the two tablets.
Windows RT Surface tablet will be available with 32 GB and 64 GB storage and Windows 8 pro Surface tablet will have 64GB and 128GB storage capacity. Windows 8 pro tablet will be more feature rich than RT version. Surface for Windows RT will be released with availability of Windows 8 OS which is accepted to be around October-November 2012, and the Windows 8 Pro model will be available about 90 days later. Firstly it will be only available in USA and can be purchased through Microsoft online store. Currently there is no information about the pricing and availability in India.
