When we thought Motorola Moto E would capture the whole of sub Rs 8000 smartphone market, India’s own mobile vendor Micromax has taken up the challenge by introducing Unite 2 (A106) – a budget friendly smartphone priced at Rs 6,999. The smartphone features Android Kitkat OS which is first from the company along with quad-core processor, 4.7 inch display and preloaded 21 Indian languages.
One major highlighted features of Micromax Unite 2 is that the smartphone comes preloaded with 21 Indian languages. One type, chat and save contacts in their mother tongue. It comes with inbuilt language fonts supported by a personalized predictive typing interface with Reverie Smartpad.
“We firmly believe that support for local languages on phones will perhaps be the next big driver for day to day phone transactions, internet usage and online content consumption in India given that most of the population does not use English as their primary language. We aim to create a powerful medium for our consumers to interact, engage, entertain and connect in their preferred language to remove any barrier for technology adoption for the masses in the country.” commented Shubhodip Pal, CMO, Micromax.
Micromax Unite 2 comes with a 4.7 WVGA IPS display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels. It’s powered by a 1.3GHz Quad core MT6582M MediaTek processor coupled with 1GB RAM.
