Just in time, when you’re glued in front of the television, Xiaomi has announced the official release of PatchWall 3.0, an update to the software behind Mi TV. With the new release, PatchWall gets the much-needed design overhaul, more content partners to entertain you and a dedicated Sports page powered by Disney+ Hotstar. Other key features of PatchWall 3.0 include an optimized Mi Lanting Pro font, horizontal scrolling and deep integration with more OTT apps.
Xiaomi will be rolling out the PatchWall 3.0 update to all Mi TVs running Android TV 9.0 and above. This includes the Mi TV 4A, Mi TV 4C Pro, Mi TV 4A Pro, Mi TV 4 Pro, Mi TV 4X, and Mi TV 4X Pro. Check your software update section under settings for the new update.
What’s changed in PatchWall 3.0?
PatchWall 3.0 gets an all-new design with various animations tweaks for a more fluid experience. The design now gives more focus on your current selection while browsing through the carousels. A horizontal scroll has been deeply implemented into the UI while navigating through a large collection content. Adding to the UI is the introduction of the new Mi Lanting Pro font that’s optimized to look clean and to enhance the legibility.
The Mi List in PatchWall 3.0 get’s a new look with custom-curated movies and TV-shows from 20+ content partners (like Prime Video, Zee5, Sun NXT). The detailed page for a movie or TV show now comes with more information like the time duration, year, genre etc. With universal search, you could now search and find content across all the OTT apps.
Coming to content curation, PatchWall 3.0 gets a new Sports page with deep integration with Disney+ Hotstar. Thus you could now watch Cricket (including IPL), Kabbadi, Formula 1, Tennis, Football, Hockey and other popular sports tournaments in a one-stop destination. There is another dedicated section to watch live news from multiple news channels for free. Finally, the kid’s section has been improved with the addition of new content partners like Lattu Kids.
