Alongside with fitness and lifestyle focused Mi Watch Revolve and Mi Smart Band 5, Xiaomi has also introduced its smart speaker in India. The company has launched Mi Smart Speaker which comes with built-in Google Voice assistant and features powerful 12W speaker with DTS Professional tuned sound.

It’s the first smart speaker from Xiaomi in India, and it takes on the nascent Smart speaker market dominated by Amazon Echo devices and Google Home devices. It will also be available through numerous offline Xiaomi partner retail stores across India in the coming month. As a free perk, the smart speaker comes with a one-year premium subscription to Gaana.

Ok Google

As said earlier, the Mi Smart Speaker comes with built-in Google Voice assistant. Thus you could speak to it in both English and Hindi (or almost in any Indian language) to do various tasks including playing songs, finding information, setting alarms, and even controlling other smart devices that have Google Assistant support.

As for connectivity, the Mi Smart Speaker comes with WiFi (both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.2 (supports A2DP Music player). Thus you can toggle between the two allowing you to stream online over WiFi or stream offline with Bluetooth. You can also pair two smart speakers for the stereo sound experience. As with any smart speaker, it needs to be connected always to a power source (DC 12V/ 1.5A).
