Moving past the mass moving consumer electronic products like Mobiles, fitness band etc, Xiaomi has entered the personal computer and office computer segment. The company has launched Mi NoteBook in India and its first products are the Mi NoteBook 14 and Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition.

With high-end specifications, but having a mid-range price tag, Mi NoteBook is to disrupt the Indian laptop market. Both these laptops packs latest-generation Intel Core processors, SSD hard disk storage options, 8GB of RAM, full HD narrow bezel display, premium light-weight build and original Windows 10 OS. So, what’s more, are you looking for?

As we said earlier, this laptops from Xiaomi packs high-end specifications perfect for productivity people, who are working for home. Yet, the company has priced the Mi NoteBook in an affordable (mid-range affordable) rate. The Mi NoteBook 14 price starts at Rs 41,999, whereas the Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition price starts at Rs 54,999. There are a couple of processors, storage and graphics card variants for these laptops. Note that these prices are introductory prices as per the company (till 16th July) and will change in the coming months.

If you have already decided to buy one of these laptops, then the first sale for the Mi NoteBook would happen on 17th June 2020. It will be available exclusively on Amazon India and Mi.com online stores, as well as, Mi Home and Mi Studio shops across India. There is also nine months no-cost EMI option available with these cards.

The Mi NoteBook 14

It’s the starting range of laptops under the Mi NoteBook series. As the numerical ’14’ highlights, the Mi NoteBook 14 flaunts a 14-inch or 35.56cm full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution) anti-glare display with 16:9 aspect ratio. It got a wide 178-degree viewing angle with 81.2 per cent screen-to-body ratio. Adding punch to the screen is the narrow bezels which are just 5.75mm thick on the sides.

Mi NoteBook 14 laptops launched in India

The Mi NoteBook 14 got an all-metallic body with anodised sandblasted coating and it’s only around 17.9mm thin. The laptop weighs around 1.5kg, that’s light and sleek to handle. Talking about the keyboard, you get a full-size keyboard which is based on the scissor mechanism. The individual keys have ABS texture, a travel distance of 1.3mm and 19mm pitch per key, making your hours of typing in it very comfortable. There is also an in-built dust protection layer increasing the life of the keyboard further.

The laptop comes with a big multi-touch trackpad that allows you to do various tasks like swipe, scroll, selection, zoom-in or zoom-out etc. As its big, the trackpad got the palm-rejection built-in to cancel out any unintended touches.

Mi NoteBook 14 packs 2x2W stereo speakers combined with the DTS audio processing app to fine-tune your musical or movie preferences. The best part it also packs the 3.5mm headphone jack which supports both headphones and mic.

Powered by Intel 10th Generation CPU

Now coming inside the Mi NoteBook 14, you get the latest Intel 10th Generation 1.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i5-10210U processor with a boost clock speed of up to 4.2GHz. Packing with it is the Intel UHD Graphics 620 or the optional NVIDIA GeForce MX250 2GB GDDR5 VRAM graphics card. Note that, only the top-end model gets the NVIDIA GeForce graphics card.

Coupled with the processor is 8GB of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB SATA 3 SSD. This high-speed SSD can deliver up to 600 MB/s data transfer speed. To cool the machine while you’re working heavily in it, the Mi NoteBook 14 comes with a wider air intake area of 2530mm and a large diameter fan. The best part even with this big fan in place, the maximum sound it produces is as low as 37 dB.

Connectivity option in Mi NoteBook 14 includes support for dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth V5.0. Ports include two high-speed Type-A USB 3.1 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI 1.4b interface, one DC-jack and one combo Audio Jack. You would also get a Mi Webcam HD 720p bundled freely with the laptop, as it lacks in-built one.

If you’re with Mi ecosystem and owns a Mi Band, then you could quickly unlock your Mi NoteBook 14 in 1.2 seconds. Similarly, if you got a Xiaomi or Mi smartphone, then with the Mi Smart Share you could instantly transfer photos, videos or documents from mobile to your notebook.
